Have you ever rounded off an expensive vernatherm with a crow’s foot wrench due to difficult access? This tool helps avoid damaging vernatherms. The tool is purpose-built for 1.5 inch vernatherms, developed at the request of a shop servicing Cirrus TSIO-550 powered aircraft. Specifically designed to fit Cirrus aircraft.
Cut from 1/4” thick AR500 steel to prevent deforming under heavy load, tested up to 130 ft-lbs. The tool features a 3/8” drive hole for use with ratchets, extensions, and torque wrenches. The head is 12 point for small turn resolution in confined spaces. This tool has been confirmed to fit on the Continental IO-470 front case plug as well. The tool will likely fit many other 1.5” vernatherms on other Lycoming and Continental engines.
